..Tit for Tat..

Titty Tatters Of The Great "G"

Apart from successfully cooking my Wan Tan Ho yesterday, before my cooking attempt in the kitchen, hubby took me to the fish shop in Noak Hill to stock up my fish tank. After long deliberation, I decided to go for the 3 Malabar baby puffers and a sucker fish. Currently, I had 2 gurami's in the tank and a sucker fish which two of the guramis had been kicked out of the tank and been transfered to hubby's larger tank as they were very aggressive and bullying the rest of the fishes in my tank.

I have had experienced with puffer fish and that was the spotted green puffer. As I have lost them due to going off on holiday and came back, tank was in it's most filth, most of my fishes did not survived. When I got back my from my holiday, I couldn't see a thing in my tank as the tank was covered in alga. Cleaned the tank, left it as it is and let the filter running with just a couple of small fishes to keep it going for the time being. Now I am happy with my tank which I have stocked up with new fishes and hopefully they will last long this time as I am around. As for now, I have 3 Malabar baby puffers, loads of shrimps, one weird fish which came in the bag of Shrimps when we bought it(guess it jumped in without the shopkeeper realising while he was scooping out the shrimps) and 2 suckers fishes. This time, I will try to keep an eye on them as these puffers are not cheap, they were £4.40 each and they are so tiny!!! I enjoy watching them and I hope they are happy in their new home...Don't die on me this time!! xxx

Update...

It's been awhile since I last updated my blog, infact I have absolutely forgotten about this blog..LOL!

Today, I have made my first attempt to cook the ever popular wan tan ho which I know most Sabahans absolutely crave for it and it is pretty hard for one to resist it's temptation! I paid £5 in Chinatown just to have this portion of flat rice noodle with egg gravy and I thought to myself, I think I can do this myself and alas..I successfully cooked one sumptios Wan Tan Ho ala UK style and I must say..I done quiet well and am please with myself..Hehe..

Here is the recipe for it..It is not a difficult recipe at all..a MUST try! Good Luck!

First of all, we need to prepare the ingredients:

flat noodle (hor fun)
2 squid, cleaned and cut
1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
100g pork meat, sliced(chicken as a substitude)
1tbsp light soy sauce
50g pork fat(which can be opted out)
4 clove garlic, crushed 1 egg
50g green mustard(choy sum) chopped
3 tbsp cornflour and 2 tbsp water to make mixture
10 prawn, cleaned and peeled
chicken stock
1 tbsp sesame oil
Salt to taste(I have left the salt out on my cooking as I think it's flavousome enough as the chicken stock gives a taste to it, and the light n dark soy sauce is good enough to make up the salt but it's entirely up to you)

To make:

1.heat up the wok, add in 2 tbsp oil and fry ½ tbsp crushed garlic till fragrant.

2.Add in hor fun(kueh tiau), dark soy sauce and light soy sauce, stir fry quickly over high heat till mix well.

3.Remove heat, set aside in a serving plate.

4.Heat up the wok, add in 1 tbsp oil and the pork fat, fry over low heat until become crispy. (for those who are not using pork, this can be skipped and go straight to no 6)

5.Remove the crispy pork fat, remain the oil in the wok.

6.Using high heat, add in sesame oil to the fried oil, fry the remaining garlic till fragrant, then add in pork meat, prawn and squid, stir fry for 1 minute.

7.Add in the chicken stock(what I do is, I put in water and add knorr chicken stock powder), bring to boil, put in green mustard(choy sum), mix well, then slowly pour in the cornflour mixture and stir well to form a thick gravy.

8.Add salt to taste(can leave the salt out, entirely up to your taste), beat in the egg and remove heat. Stir till the egg mix well with the gravy.

9.Pour the egg gravy on top of the fried kuew tiau. Add the crispy pork fat on the top. Your Wan tan ho is now ready to be served.

That’s it! Pretty simple to make this well known dish. But remember, to make a smooth gravy, we shouldn’t let the egg cooked for too long, the best way is to remove heat immediately right after the egg is beat in. Since the gravy is hot, the egg will cooked once it mix well with the gravy, so no worries, you won’t have raw egg here! Happy cooking!

Gudness me! It's Monday! Can't believe how time flies. I don't mind though as I am looking forward to my delivery, yes..the awaiting of our new bedframe..Matress was bought a week earlier and been sitting in the bedroom waiting and still boxed up! Which reminds me..I need to ring them up to find out when is my bed going to be delivered..Hopefully by this week..

Cat found 100 miles from home .Adie Morrissey feared the worst after Snowy failed to return to her home in Covingham, near Swindon.

But she had been enjoying herself by the seaside 102 miles away in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Mr Morrissey, 48, received a call from a vet to say that 13-year-old Snowy, who was microchipped, had been found by a builder who dropped her off at the surgery.

It is thought that Snowy had climbed into the back of a van, which then travelled to the resort.

Mr Morrissey drove to Bognor Regis to collect her last Tuesday.

"I was so surprised and have been wondering how she got down there," Mr Morrissey told the Swindon Advertiser.

"Snowy is quite inquisitive and likes to get into places so she must have got into the back of a van as there is no way she walked.

"I hope she has learned her lesson but I am delighted to have her back."

Another day...

Yayyyyyyyy!! It's TGIF!! It's 7.30am and I just had my quick breakfast of peanut of butter toast and a cup of tea. I open up www.sky.com and read the news and saw one of the small headlines of todays top videos, "Puppy Flushed Down Toilet" and I was like uuhhh ohhhh..need to read this.

"Puppy Flushed Down Toilet"

A week-old puppy flushed down the toilet by a four-year-old, who decided the cocker spaniel 'needed a wash', has been saved. It was trapped in a waste pipe for nearly four hours before drainage firm Dyno-Rod came to the rescue.

Poor little boy didn't know what he caused when he innocently wanted to wash the puppy. There was a video post on the side for you lots to watch if you want on how they saved the poor puppy. Just go to www.sky.com and search for the todays top videos headline. If this were to happen in Malaysia I doubt that people would even bother to do anything...I am pleased that the lil mut was saved..

Ohh Noooo...G is back again! Hope I could find some inspiration to write again as it has been so long since I've last blogged.
